I see that we have a couple of weeks without 1st team action at Billesley in the Christmas period (H to Gala on 15/12/12 and then H to Jersey 5/1/13)...
I also see that we and Coventry are without a fixture on weekend of 29/30th Dec... Any chance of a "friendly" with them for an excuse for some mulled wine to go with the pork baps on that weekend?

Rich. Don't want to poo poo your idea but we have a game at Nottingham on 23 Dec and the Jersey game as the first in the new year,so with the size of our squad I doubt the coaches would want to risk injuries even though it would be a 'friendly' with Cov. Recharge the batteries and get 5 points against Jersey.
I was envisaging more of a Development/Oak/Guest/Returning XV (or XXIII) - don't think Cov would want to play our 1s anymore than we would risk them playing...
I am not sure of the timing, but I would really love to see at some point each year a game of some sort against Cov. I keep thinking back to that final game of teh season when we were at home against Bees (the year cov went down) and how the ref would not give us a penalty try that would have sent bees down instead of cov. Granted the following season we had them in their own back yard and sent them down (but left us wiothout any derby game at all). If we had to have a derby game Cov is my only choice. Come on the Mose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (remeber the away game at Cov the season they went down an dour own penalty try in the last couple of minutes - it was one of the sweetest moments in my supporting career!

It wouldn't have saved Cov, they were already losing too heavily on their own account. It would merely have reduced the margin by which they were relegated to 1 point, IIRC.
