Final score from Bedwas was (thanks to MSA keeping the live socre centre up to date!) 38-37 to Bedwas........Mose try scorers (plenty of them) look to have been Caolan Ryan (debut I think?), Ollie Thomas, Charlie Hayter (debut?), Billy Robinson, Anders Mogenson and Anthony Carter.

Back from the game. A sunny day in the valleys and the Brains Dark went down a treat. Now the game. We lost it at the death after our second yellow card , one in each half Mather and Mason. Our scrum worked well and the backs looked slick most of the time but our lineout struggled with throws not straight or missing the intended jumpers. I thought Mogenson looked pacey and could score a few tries at this level. At 37 -26 we should have closed the game but being down to 14 men for twenty minutes is going to tell in the end as it did. Anyway more positives than negatives. Role on to next Saturday to a baking Billsley against Aberavon.l

Really good pre-season game where Bedwas fielded a different, yes completly different, team in both halves so, although we made changes, on a scortchingly hot day, the team played for the full 80mins without fading and gave as good an account of themselves as did Bedwas. Yes, it was not the complete performance, it was the 1st competitive game in which the lads had played together as a team but they looked up for it and will be better for the experience. Any problems should be easily ironed out and from what I could see there weren't any major ones. The best thing I noticed was the team spirit. Everyone seemed to enjoy the whole experience, both on and off the pitch, there was a real buzz about everything. Nobody seeemed left out or wanting to not be involved (again both on and off the pitch) which was different to some of the games we saw last season. Overall impression was that Kevin and the rest of the coaching crew seemed to have got a squad together that wants to play for the club, enjoys playing together and gave good signs that the pace Kevin wanted in attack and the power wanted in the pack is probably there. Some sides we meet are going to be very much surprised at the difference between today's team and last seasons. One of the Bedwas faithful, who played against Beally way back, said Aberavon were a good side, better than Bedwas, so we should expect a hard game next Saturday. It's early days but I think this season we might have more reason to cheer than be fed up about, or at least, I will have my fingers crossed early on. Ever the optimist but I realy think this time I have reason to be. Come on you New Mooooose
Surprise, surprise. Managed to log into the message board at my 17 millionth attempt. Disappointed at the bedwas score - mainly because so many tries were leaked and also the ugly head of yellow cards again. But the fact that we scored as well was promising. Hope to be at the Aberavon game on Saturday. Come on Moooooooooooooooooooooooooose.
Phil, don't start the season off with the preconcieved idea that the Moseley side that played at Bedwas was just an extension of the one that finished the season last year. It most certainly is not. The attitude and team spirit is far better than last year. They would probably have played for only 1/2 the game last season. This lot battled for the full 90 minutes so untill you see them don't pre-judge them. Main thing is we hear Mooooooooooooooooooooooooooose-LEY at the games again next year.
No Shy Spa. Luckily this was a pre-season friendly. Although we should try to win evey game this is the one we could afford to loose. From the attitude the squad showed I think the few flaws that were shown in the game will be sorted out PDQ. Everyone wants to succeed. There won't be any passengers this season. Everyone is fighting for a place in the starting side not to be on the bench. Come on you Mooooose and Mooooose fans.
After reading what people have to say about yesterday's game, I'm genuinely looking forward to next Saturday! It sounds as though the attitude, fitness levels, and team spirit among the players is going to be something to savour....
Of course, a few of the players in yesterday's squad - Waller, Mogensen and Day - belong to Northampton, and we don't know how the arrangement with them will work. Was Mogensen only playing because Simon Hunt was missing ? Or will he be available regularly in which case there is the option of Hunt playing full-back.
They obviously forgot their away kit 2 years ago when we last played them at Billesley Common. Hope we have washed ours in time for saturday afternoon!
