Tomorrows finals have been postponed due to waterlogging @ Droitwich. Please pass this message on to any supporters who were intending to travel tomorrow to watch our U16s and U17s.
If anyone has a free Sunday and is missing their Rugby already, the U17s play in the RFU National Shield final on Sunday 6th May against Dorking. K.O. is at 11.00am at Worcester's 6 Ways, and it would be great for the boys to play in front of some vocal support.
Brave attempts by the U16's & U17's on a sunny but very windy finals day. The under 16's in particular put up a spirited fight and looked initially as though they had a good chance after taking the lead, but Luctonians stepped up a gear and pinned Mose in there own half for much of the 1st half. It has to be said though that Moseley's defence was as strong as I think I have seen this season. Some awesome tackles and good organisation. In the 2nd half Luctonians threw the ball around more rather than battle it out and were rewarded with a number of tries run in, mainly on the wing, from way out. Mose had there good moments, good individual tries and a push over try toward the end of the game that showed their power in the pack. The U17's battled untill the last whistle but Worcester were just too well organised and as a result ended up fairly easy winners. Having said that both games were worth watching and both teams gave the fans who went to support something to shout for. The afternoon was far from wasted. Thanks for that. Sorry but you will have to wait for more comprehensive reports to get the scores. I'm hopeless if there isn't a score board. Come on you young Mooooose.
Ken , glad you enjoyed the day ,16s lost 33-22 , the game could have gone eithor way i thought , have to say the turning point seemed to be the ignoreing of a brutal stamping on Mose flankers , Callum Bradburys face ,which allowed Lucs to score on halftime and to give them the momentum , however I am told some very good players are due in September to join this squad so next seasons Colts should give us something to look forward too .
Agreed jonnoisgod. The stamping deserved a sending off. The ref. may not have seen it but the touch did and did not do anythging to stop play. The ref. was made aware that there was someone down but did not do anything about it. All in all a bad bit of officiating. Probably did turn the game and no one even talked to.
