Plymouth first up for Moseley in Friday evening cracker

RFU Championship Play-Off Fixture Moseley v Plymouth Albion Friday 9th March, 7.30 pm kick off at Billesley Common B13
Moseley welcomes Plymouth Albion to Billesley Common this Friday evening with a 7.30 pm kick off for what will be the first of the important play-off games. Moseley had the better of the last encounter when the sides met at Billesley in January and will be looking to do the same to start the playoffs with a bang.
There has been little between the two teams this season with both matches in the league phase ending in single figure victories. The Moseley players will be buoyed by their performances against the league’s highest placed clubs in their last three fixtures. On each occasion something more could have been obtained from these games had fortune been more kind.
A sizeable crowd is expected to encourage the team with Moseley management inviting local clubs to come along and enjoy the game at extremely competitive prices. For this match only North Midlands clubs can purchase tickets in advance at 10 for £50 saving £10 a ticket on match day gate prices. Clubs can take up the offer by contacting the Club directly.
Individuals and local businesses can also benefit by taking advantage of flexible deals on hospitality boxes. Boxes at all three home play-off games can be purchased for £999 or two games for £735.
The atmosphere at Billesley Common is always electric at Friday night games and with the added tension of Championship survival at stake this is one not to be missed.

Moseley expect a stiff challenge

RFU Championship Group C Play-Offs: Moseley v Plymouth Albion Friday 9th March, 7.30pm kick off at Billesley Common, Birmingham
After consecutive matches against the top three teams in the League, Moseley will be expecting a similar stiff challenge from Plymouth Albion in this opening match in the Group C play-offs. In the regular season both matches had tight finishes, with just one score separating the teams on each occasion.
Moseley expect to field a similar side to that which played a fortnight ago in Penzance against Cornish Pirates where they went down spiritedly. Two significant changes are in the pack where Neil Mason and David Lyons both start at the expense of Michael Maltman and Dan Sanderson.

JON VICKERS will make his first Championship start for Plymouth Albion tomorrow night (Friday) when they begin their relegation play-off campaign with an away trip to Moseley.
The hooker has missed most of the season with a neck injury, but he has recovered at just the right time for Albion.
Ironically, Vickers' only other competitive start for Albion came against Moseley at Billesley Common in a British & Irish Cup match in September.
As well as Vickers, Albion also welcome back captain Sean-Michael Stephen, prop Ryan Hopkins and flanker Wayne Sprangle to their starting line-up.
There is also a play-off start for 18-year-old winger Jack Arnott after he impressed Albion coach Nat Saumi in the club's final two regular season matches.
After tomorrow's trip, Albion face back-to-back home games against Esher and London Scottish.
The Esher match will be played on Friday, March 16, with the London Scottish fixture the following Friday (March 23). Tickets for those games start from £13 for adults and £1 for children and can be purchased at www.plymouthalbion.com.

Whilst I would have preferred Ryan to start at 9, with Ollie at 10, Robinson at 14 and Carter at 15 this is a strong squad. Make no mistake, Albion will 'come out fighting' and we must do the same and keep it going for the whole 80 minutes. If we do the simple things correctly and maintain the 'physicallity' throughout we will be ok. I'll be cheering Mose on from deepest Devon and hopefully smiling at the local news reports late Friday night and Saturday morning. COME ON MOSE!
Know what you mean WC Moes, but Ryan has been fantantic off the bench since he returned to squad - so hopefully will be a huge boost on 50/60 mins. Yes can't understand Carter on wing (excellent fullback) - better defensively perhaps. Can't leave Olly out for kicks with no Glyn Hughes. Overall I think Brad does ok at 10 but doesn't dictate play/territory much. I'm still concerned we have no recent recruits improving our side - whereas the other 3 may have! Cum on U Moes.
Shaggy is not a winger, much better at full back. We have Billy Robinson who has proved he can play on the wing and is a real flier. Put Ollie in at 10 and put Brad Davies on the bench. It is a toss up for me whether Sam Brown or Ryan start at 9, although Ryan has mad a difference as an impact player when he has come on as a replacement. He is just that bit different to Sam and has caught the opposition by surprise on ocassions. Having said that I don't think it matters too much what team we start with. Everybody will be giving their all and that should go for the supporters as well. Lets give it some stick tonight and show the team how much we really appreciate them. Come on you Mooooose.
I think the back 3 may have been different had Glyn been available but in his absence Ollie has to play. The pack looks strong with plenty of bill ball carriers. Hopefully we can control the game and use Ryan's pace off the bench in second half. my word I'm nervous though!
