It is great news that both Freddie and Jack have been retained along with Tighe, presumably at number 10. The Moseley faithfull, all seasoned experts in their own playing position and all former "international referees" to boot, expect a lot from new players and Tighe must have felt a lot of weight on his shoulders as he started a new season, a new club a new coach and new fellow players.
I felt Tighe struggled in the early season - after all Leeds, his former club, now relegated, had only been in the National 1 for one season and the bulk of his new Moseley players had been playing together at National 1 for a number of seasons so it must have been daunting for Tighe.
But Tighe accepted the challenge and improved noticeably as the season progressed, particuarly during the last quarter. And he was pretty accurate with his goal kicking as well - even those that missed only missed by a whisker. So, now that Tighe has settled in and is familiar with the wind swirls on the common he can concentrate on his goal and line-kicking distances and chase after Sam Doble's points record. I wish him well.
