From Dave Warren – Chairman & President
It is with great pleasure that I would like to announce the appointment of Jack Richards to the main board of directors.
Jack brings with him a wealth of playing experience for Birmingham Moseley RFC.
He started playing for the Club in 1995 as a 6yr old junior and played in all age groups until he finished in the Colts in 2008.
He then helped to set up Moseley Oak in 2008, eight years as Captain, and is currently in his 16th year with them making this his 29th year playing for Moseley.
An important consideration for the Board’s decision is Jack’s involvement in the development of all of the sections of the Club. He is:
o The video analyst for the 1st XV
o The Head of Community Coaching developing relationships with schools
o A member of the MPA committee
o The organiser of the
• MPA 7s event
• 7s events to Europe and the USA
• School tag rugby festivals at Moseley
• Rugby and multi sports camps during the school holidays
• Fund raising events for the Foundation
• Coaches to deliver ‘Super Sunday’ coaching for the M&J section
He has:
• Worked with Lynda Batchelor to write bids to raise funds
• Assisted with the initial development of the Walking Rugby, and
• Launched an annual Boxing Day touch rugby event
Jack is also the youngest Club Vice President to date.
Jack says, “ Many of my life’s accomplishments have had something to do with Moseley. I am honoured to become a member of the Board and to help mould the future of the club I love.”
All of the above goes to demonstrate why I have no hesitation in appointing Jack to help take the Club forward and into a bright future.
The Board are actively seeking to develop a succession plan to ensure the legacy of Birmingham Moseley RFC continues for a further 150 years. Therefore, if there are any young members of the Club who would like to be considered to be part of BMRFC’s future, please let any existing Board member know.
