Director of Rugby, Adam Balding has today confirmed the re-signing of second row player, Harry Butler.
Harry will begin his third season with us having joined from Gloucester in July 2021. His presence at the club is enjoyed by both his playing colleagues and supporters alike. Harry is always the first on the mike to give his colleagues some welcome banter.
He is one of those players that does the job unnoticed but extremely well. He has secured his place in the team making 20 appearances last season. Harry is improving year on year and with the settled team that is being assembled around him we look forward to the contribution he makes to what is becoming a pack to be envied in the league.
Adding to the quality in the pack, Adam has brought Callum Allen to The Common. Callum joins us from Championship side Nottingham. Previously Callum played at local rivals Cinderford before joining Nottingham in 2019. Callum was a regular in the Nottingham squad notching up 39 appearances. Weighing in at 124 kgs he will bring some welcome bulk to the second row. Callum is keen to bring his Championship experience to the club and we look forward to seeing him make an impression as he joins an already imposing pack.
Callum Allen commented:
“I am very excited to have signed for Moseley, who have always been a big club with a great fan base. With the players we have in the squad we can be expecting a big season coming up both individually and as a team and I can’t wait to get started”
Adam Balding, Director of Rugby commented:
“Callum Allen – To sign Callum from Nottingham is a real coupe for the club, over the past couple of seasons with Nottingham Callum has really established himself as a championship second row. That level of performance and playing experience will only strengthen and galvanise the front five, his physicality around the contact area especially at set piece will make him a real asset to the forward pack. We are all looking forward to seeing Callum pulling on a Birmingham Moseley shirt for the 2023-24 season.
Harry Butler – Harry now moves into his third season with Birmingham Moseley, a big personality within the squad whilst showcasing leadership qualities both on and off the field of play. These last 2 seasons have seen Harry become a key figure within the forward pack whilst developing his game understanding, Harry is a pleasure to work with and we all look forward to seeing him take that next step this season pushing on again with his development as a Birmingham Moseley player.”
