This is good news. for the last two seasons, our prep has not been anywhere near good enough - mostly through no fault of our own. It has, however, showed in early season match fitness and results. Playing catch-up is difficult and not fun. So, please make sure that the games will be a) on and b) competitive.
I don't particularly care about playing the likes of Coventry - I want to play them for real in the Championship!
I think the preseason game with Cinderford last August was cancelled due to Covid. It would be nice to play another Welsh side.
Cinderford pitch was like concrete and unplayable due to prolonged dry spell in the run up to the game. Not something either club could foresee when arranging and control.
The Carmarthen game was the one cancelled due to Covid in their team. Again not something either club could foresee and control.
We know management was as disappointed as supporters, if not more so, not being able to have a meaningful pre-season build up.

I'm sure we all want to resume league battle with Cov whatever division that would be in. But we got our only decent warm-up opportunity at the BPA last year and it was a tough game at that. It should be their turn to come to Billesley this year if we have a game against them.

I wonder if we can actually play them at the moment - given the tackle laws will be completely different between National 1 and the Championship from September, and presumably both sides will have to train to how they're going to be playing.
It might even have implications for loan deals I suppose.
