On the Rolling Maul site someone said at some zoom meeting John Inverdale said in Nat 1 there would be one up and two down. I thought it was originally three down, or has no relegation from Championship changed things.

Given there're three equal leagues below N1, if they went to 2 down (and more importantly 2 up) I can see that one being popular/entertaining to sort out. Not.
At 14:21 yesterday Rolling Maul contributor said.. John Inverdale input - NO RELEGATION FROM CHAMPIONSHIP. NAT 1 - 1 UP, 2 DOWN NAT 2 - 1 UP FROM EACH (3) 2 DOWN FROM EACH (6) There were no quotes.
Okay if there is no relegation from the Championship and one goes up from our league that will make it 13 teams in the Championship. I thought they were trying to make it an even number so there was not a situation where one team had a blank week. Or am I missing the point?

depends how it pans out....
if one team actually goes up this year to the Premiership, and one goes up from National 1 but there's no relegation to level 3, then it's a 12 team championship. BUT, if either/both Wasps and Worcester get over the line then it's a 13 or 14 team league. And if, by some fluke, a team manages to win the Championship and hasn't done an audit for promotion then it's a 15 team league....
The RFU Council have confirmed they have rejected the motion to have no relegation from the Championship this season meaning three teams will go down from National One.
The decision means one of Taunton Titans or Esher will join Hull and Leeds Tykes in National Two next season with just one point separating the two sides heading into the final day.
Taunton currently sit in the bottom three and host Leeds Tykes this weekend while Esher are at home to title-chasing Rams RFC.
As things stand, London Scottish are currently the Championship’s bottom club and face relegation rivals Richmond on Saturday.
