Just a few thoughts on off-the-field matters following yesterday's fabulous win over Cambridge.
1. Music. I know it's sacrilegious, but not everybody loves 'Sweet Caroline' at every event. Upon yesterday's final whistle, the applause and appreciation of supporters was immediately drowned out by Neil Diamond. If music has to be played, could it be put on hold until the player 'tunnel' is finished? Neil Diamond is not our 16th man!
2. It's great to see MSA represented so well in the programme. A minor suggestion for the player interview; could the question be prefixed by "MSA" rather than 'We said" and the answer by 'Elliot' rather than 'Elliot said'? These are already printed in bold, so there should be little room for confusion.
3. On the subject of the programme, is it worth considering a 'where are they now' feature? I'm sure the MPA is in touch with many who might be prepared to share a page of Moseley memories similar to the MSA Champagne Moment mentioned above. Of course, this takes time and resource, but it's just a thought (inspired by the upcoming 50th anniversary of MCW beating the All Blacks).
4. It would great to hear a ground update, perhaps in Moseley Matters. With the closed stand dismantled and most of the 'hospitality boxes' gone, are there any near(ish) term plans? One suggestion might be some anti-pigeon netting in the stand - they obviously sit [sic] at a great height!
5. I think RFU regulations stipulate that if a game is going to finish under lights, they must be on at the start. Given current energy costs, perhaps representation could be made to reconsider this; it would also be more environmentally friendly.
Come on Mose!
