Experienced talent joins the centres

Director of Rugby, Adam Balding today confirmed the signing of Elliott Creed, a centre also capable of slotting in at fly half or wing, joining from Nottingham.
Elliott has been on Adam Balding’s radar since their paths crossed in their brief time together at National 1 rivals Cinderford. He previously brought Elliott to The Common for the 2020/2021 season before the season was lost to Covid. Nottingham then pounced to sign Elliott for last season. With some unfinished business in Birmingham we are pleased he has chosen to re-join for a chance to demonstrate why Adam has been so keen to bring him to the club.
Elliott brings with him a wealth of experience having made 9 Premiership appearances for Gloucester and over 70 in the Championship. His previous clubs include London Scottish, Doncaster and Hartpury, playing for the latter while on loan from Gloucester. We look forward to seeing his renowned turn of pace and his versatility in the back line will be an additional resource to cover in key positions.
Elliott’s arrival will be complemented by the return of three influential centres retained for the 2022/2023 season.
Elliott commented on his signing:
“Delighted to have signed again for Birmingham Moseley for the coming season. Balders and the coaching staff are a really ambitious group with hopes of promotion, they’ve already made some great additions to an already strong squad. Really looking forward to getting started and I’m confident of a high finish in the league this season.”
Bringing some welcome stability in the back line is the confirmation of the return of Ollie Allsopp, Isaac McNulty and Andy Bulumakau, all of which made a huge contribution to both mid field defence and attack last season.
Ever present Ollie Allsopp (27 appearances) forged a strong partnership with Isaac McNulty (8 appearances) last season before injury shortened Isaac’s season. In his second period with the club Ollie reached the milestone of fifty appearances in November. Ollie’s distribution skills and tactical kicking will be key to setting the creative backline moving.
Isaac will be looking to put the disappointment of his season being curtailed in January to pick up from his promising performances at inside centre.
Andy Bulumakau (13 appearances) instils fear into opposition defences with his rampaging ball carrying, breaking tackles, coupled with sleight of hand out of contact to put supporting players into space. Andy is another versatile back line player featuring on the wing on occasions throughout the season.
Competition for centre positions will be fierce next season with such talented players in Adam Balding’s armoury vying for the starting berths.
