Birmingham Moseley Rugby today announce that exciting scrum half Jack Combes will be at Billesley Common again next season and will be joined in that position by Matt Marsh, who moves from Championship club Nottingham.
Jack joined the club last season from Hartpury, having moved to the UK from his native Hong Kong. He made twenty-one appearances last season, rapidly becoming first choice scrum half. A trademark of Jack’s performances has been his natural instinct to play the game at pace, whilst always being on the lookout for opportunities to catch opposition defences unawares.
As well as his commitments to the club, Jack has taken the opportunity to start imparting the knowledge of rugby he has learnt by starting his own coaching business Skillsfactory9 providing one to one, group coaching and skills development.
Matt Marsh has an impressive record at junior level having represented the South West and England Lions at under 16 level going on to join Premiership side Exeter in the under 18’s. He studied at Cardiff Metropolitan University following the likes of England International Alex Dombrandt and Welsh Internationals Ken Owens and Alex Cuthbert, plus our own Ryan Roach, carving out a solid career in rugby.
After completing his studies in 2020 he joined Championship side Ampthill making 5 appearances before moving to Nottingham where he played in 11 matches.
Matt Marsh said:
“I am really excited to be joining Birmingham Moseley for the 2022/2023 season. I have had a few conversations with Adam and like the sound of the club’s ambitions for the future. I feel that with the squad the coaching team are building we have a real opportunity to be there or there abouts fighting at the top of the table and I’m looking forward to giving everything I can on and off the pitch for a club with the history that Birmingham Moseley has.”
