Fans favourites on the road to rehab

Birmingham Moseley supporters will be aware of the unfortunate long-term injuries to Jacob Fewtrell and Kailus Hutchinson.
Since the end of last season both players have continued to be treated, monitored and supported by the club’s medical team. Fly half Jacob suffered a season ending injury in only his fourth appearance for the club, after a promising start including a man of the match performance against Tonbridge Juddians. Kailus, a dynamic second/back row, sustained a serious leg injury playing away at Darlington Mowden Park in the last game of last season.
Adam Balding, Birmingham Moseley Director of Rugby is pleased to announce that both Jacob and Kailus are making excellent progress and are expected to return to the fray at some stage during the 2022-23 campaign. Both Kailus and Jacob are integral to the clubs long term future and we wish them both a speedy recovery.
Birmingham Moseley supporters will recall a player who earned his stripes at the club, leaving to join Championship side London Scottish at the start of last season. Morgan Dawes made a name for himself during his development at the club and became a supporter’s favourite before deciding to take the opportunity to gain experience at the next level.
Morgan came back on loan in January last season to help secure a win in a tight game against Blackheath, where all his skills were back on show at Billesley Common. He used his ball turnover ability to make a half break resulting in fellow back rower Aled Ward going over to score. Shortly after Morgan got on the score sheet himself following a chip ahead by fly half Elliot Bale feeding Morgan to score. Morgan suffered a knee injury at the end of last season.
Adam Balding is delighted to announce that he has managed to secure his welcome return to the club next season. Morgan’s ability to create turn over ball and break the gain line are areas that give him a point of difference and provides the edge when in attacking positions. The club will be supporting Morgan, as a player well worth investing in for the future, via his rehabilitation over the summer.
Adam Balding said “As a result of the excellent work that our professional medical staff put in to the treatment, care and rehabilitation of our injured players both Kailus and Jacob are being well prepared for a return to play next season.
Although Morgan is side-lined with injury at the moment, he is also under the care of our medical staff who are working closely with him to ensure we see him in the black and red shirt as soon as possible.”
