Birmingham Moseley Rugby are pleased to announce that 6 Senior Academy players have remained at the club for next season.
Wing Jamal Gask-Clarke, Scrum Half Adam Collingwood, Tight head Prop Guy Toye, Loose Head Prop Jamie Constantine, Second Row Harry Barnes and Back Row Harry Dawson have all committed their future to the club.
Adam Balding, Director of Rugby, has made the player pathway process a key area within the club and he is very keen to see this as a breeding ground for future first team players.
Some of the players such as Guy Toye and Harry Barnes have already had a taste of first team rugby, and will be keen to add to the experience.
The senior academy is the final stepping stone to the first team squad. Players get individual coaching and the forwards this year will benefit from the skills and knowledge of Ashley Johnson in his new role as player coach. At this level the Academy players train with the senior squad and have the opportunity to show the coaching staff their credentials to step up to the first XV.
In addition to those players progressing through the Birmingham Moseley system we are pleased to welcome Back Row Jack English who joins us from Wasp Academy/Coventry College. Jack brings considerable experience to the club for someone who is still only 18 having captained Warwickshire through U14 to U18 age groups and secured Man of the Match awards for Wasps Academy against Newcastle Flacons and Northampton Saints.
Upon his signing Jack said: “I am looking forward to starting the season at Birmingham Moseley and getting to know the lads”
Birmingham Moseley have always prided themselves on promoting local talent and this year there is a real expectation that these young players will deliver on their potential and make that breakthrough.
