I'm part of the small band of traveling away supporters that have followed Moseley to all it's away games last season, except Ulster in the B&I, and all but one of the away games this season so far. As such I travelled to Leeds today spent the 40 quid in petrol etc and stood there and screamed my throat out to watch a very courageous effort by the lads fall just short of the win that was so nearly ours. As disappointing as that is, and I can understand that it's probably more disappointing as a player, I can take the stress and frustration of the losses. What has got to me today was that as part of a band of about 25 Mose supporters shouting, screaming, and jumping around whilst our guys were playing towards us; at the end of the game when they'd had their on pitch group hug and discussion nobody bar one Colin Quigley even turned to acknowledge us. Colin in fairness did turn and at least wave but that was it. Now I know they will all have been upset etc and so was I but the way everyone marched off the pitch makes you feel "What am I doing here?" Moseley doesn't have a great deal of away support anyway so when things like this happen it makes you question whether it's worth it. As I said I'm not sore about losing. The effort today was huge and as a supporter I appreciate that. But that's the point we're supporters. I'm not sure whether someone thought that they were in for a barrage of abuse but they weren't. In previous matches some of the guys have come over and spoken to us and there has always been a mood of appreciation for the effort and congratulations for the things that have gone well. I don't know what's been said, or by whom, but this is not the Moseley team I feel I am getting to know. If the guys are now being ordered to leave the pitch without speaking to anyone then that's a real shame because it's completely at odds with the supporter/player relationship that Kevin Maggs and Craig West envisaged at the start of the season. Hopefully if the comms team read this these points can be raised with the powers that be. Hopefully this is just a one off but if this is how it's going to be with no supporter/ player links then I'm not sure I'll want to carry on spending the money and giving up the day to watch what was, after all said and done, another loss. A wave , a "thanks for coming" and a hand shake costs nothing and goes a very long way. Well done today lads I do appreciate your effort; see you against Rotherham.
