A good few years ago when I was travelling to a Mose away match, we discussed 'would we rather have Moseley win a cup final or England win the RWC'. Split was about 50-50. For me, as much as I love Moseley & followed them for nearly 40yrs, England winning the Rugby World Cup is the most important! What do others think?
No doubt for me - Moseley winning a cup final (preferably as the top club in England if not Europe). Until the whole club structure in English rugby is sorted out properly - and particularly the premiership cartel's permitted hold on the game which currently has at least 50% non EQP - England's national team will continue to underperform greatly. With the RFU's revenues, and number of clubs and players continuing to dwarf those of other rugby nations including NZ and SA we should be top continuously especially after the excellent springboard from winning the World Cup in 2003. Instead other countries like Wales and Ireland with far better structures have outperformed us. Quite frankly I have lost interest in how the England performs and until the RFU sorts out the mess my club will always be my main focus and interest.
