Moseley Rugby Club’s annual Stratford Stroll for Charity
The 12th annual walk along the picturesque Stratford-on-Avon Canal takes place on Saturday 21st June and Moseley Rugby Club are appealing for walkers and sponsors.
Over 70 took part last year and a revised plan means that this year there are also 10 mile option for those who either don’t fancy or can’t spare the time for the full 22 mile version.
The British Heart Foundation, Midland Air Ambulance, Cure Leukaemia and the club’s own charity The Moseley Rugby Community Foundation have benefitted over the years to the tune of over £30,000.
This year the walk will be raising money for Parkinsons UK and the Moseley Community Development Foundation.
The full route once again starts at Mary Arden’s House in Stratford, whilst the shorter option starts at The Boot at Lapworth (10 mile version)
The club lays on transport from the Rugby Club in Billesley (Birmingham B13) to the various start points. The timings means that all the walkers should arrive back at the club for a ‘thank you’ BBQ around the same time.
A highly enjoyable day out in good company – and raising money for great causes.
Timings and further information:
Saturday 21st June.
• 22 mile version – 8am at Moseley Rugby Club (9.15 start in Stratford)
• 10 mile version – 11.30am for a 12.15 start at The Boot
4pm onwards: BBQ (and bouncy castle etc) back at the rugby club. Those not able to undertake the walk are of course very welcome to come directly to the club for the BBQ – their sponsorship is greatly appreciated.
To join in (open to all – and very welcome you’ll be made to feel) simply get a sponsorship form from Lee Evans on 07803 182598 or e-mail lee@pinstripegroup.co.uk or info@moseleyrugby.co.uk
