It was 27-15 in a bit of a mud bath. We scored 5 tries in total. Best performance of the season for the 2s I'd say against a decent team. We conceded a try off the first play of the game too so was good to come back from that. Top performances from Antonio Solomon (2 tries), rhod preece at 8 and the pill at hooker.

STAFFORD 10 – MOSELEY OAK 36

A fine away performance by Moseley Oak saw a bonus point win in front of a good crowd including a number of travelling Moseley Supporters.

Moseley started well into the breeze. Much of the first ten minutes was spent in the Stafford half and at the end of this period of pressure a half break in midfield was supported by Duncan White who scored to the right of the posts.

Seven minutes later a Stafford attack was turned over and Back Row Forward, Dan Lavander fed Moseley Captain Jack Richards 65 metres out. He beat his opposite number on the outside and his pace was too much for the covering full back. Pons converted the try. 12 - 0.

After 20 minutes a beautiful Moseley Oak move, which looked like scoring, broke down when the wing pulled his hamstring and dropped the pass. His Stafford opposite number picked the ball up and showed good pace to score a converted try.

Moseley pushed themselves back into creating pressure and a series of forward drives saw Ben Gerry power over; the try was converted.

Stafford came back with a penalty giving a half time score of 17 - 10 to Moseley Oak.

Stafford dominated the first period of the second half while injuries disrupted Moseley Oak with all 3 replacements having to be used.

The defence held strong and was relieved when a Moseley Oak attack resulted in a converted penalty.

With 15 minutes to go the Moseley tempo rose. Harry Griffiths scored a well worked converted try on the left. He then created another opportunity which should have been scored with a deft kick.

A further Moseley Oak penalty and a converted try after a strong break from Nashua Maphosa led to a final score of 36 - 10.

This was a better performance on a good pitch at Stafford’s excellent facility. Moseley Oak are now 2nd in Midlands 2 West, 8 points behind Silhillians with a game in hand. All to play for.
