Usual one-eyed effort from Mark Regan and his mate. I think at the start they thought that Bris were going to win by a very large margin. Made the last fifteen minutes that much more enjoyable when they were eating humble pie interspersed with crying into their beer!!! Bring on the Falcons!!!
Mose 3rd try was" the best one you will see this season ,it will be shown many times on TV brillant try" as quoted on commentary. What a fantastic effort lads and bring on Newcastle . Well done all involved and we heard the fans at the final whistle.

I am beginning to hate every 28 seconds of away matches.............why?.................its just 2 seconds for score update...................not to worry........adrenalin jab on standby!!
Sounds like they played out of their skins and great performances. Well Done Kev and Lads.
Lets get Billesley rockin next week , get the music going and we need a tune or song to roar when we score a try, conversion ,pen, How about PIG BAG and we all join in with SUPA MOSELEY ;D
I see Redford Pennycuck was back for Bristol tonight........ not a good night for the Pennycuck brothers then ! lol Scottish have leaked some points - can we get 8 try bonus points against them? Cum on u Moes.
I think the game could have gone either way, but Bristol completely imploded at the end, and the forward play (and the scrum) seemed pretty solid for the whole game.
Initially, Bristol had a penalty, got past a few missed tackles, won a Moseley line out, and I was thinking 'Oh Dear'. They looked dangerous whenever they got the ball to the backs, in the first half they looked quite a bit better overall in my opinion. But they messed up a lineout themselves, and had a kick charged down, so it did seem like they were making some errors.
And then Hughes did a fake pass and went through to score the try. And for some reason, Bristol never once seemed to learn he would do this. Maybe it was just Roberts (who is capable of some surprisingly tough tackles) at 10, but Hughes must have done it to other players. If I was a Bristol coach I would be seething at how easily they could be sidestepped by the same move again and again.
Moseley also had 14 men for a period, then 13 v 14 as some 'spirited' encounters eventually took its toll on the ref, but Bristol didn't really threaten that much when they actually got in the 22, considering how much ground was made in parts by Bristol, the recovery defending was really good. Moseley never really got close to the try line themselves, but Hughes missed a few kicks. Of course, Bristol fans saw this as justice as a penalty should never be given against their team, their crowd was one-eyed beyond belief (the ref probably wasn't that great, but gave Bristol plenty of penalties as well).
Then Bristol turned the screw a bit, finally got it out wide and scored, and then their quite handy full back weaved through, and a few phases later they scored again, although on the balance of play they didn't look as strong at this point. Bristol also got in many other good positions, but a mixture of wonky line-outs and an insistence of taking contact rather than utilising numbers out wide meant they didn't score any more tries.
At this point, Moseley started to run it more, and Hughes just breezed past the defence in more open rugby. A few promising runs eventually saw a first try, with yet more Hughes fake passes, and then shortly afterwards a run from deep saw the fast paced break upfield with Hayter scoring a good try (negative, but it should have been nullified when Hughes first had it really).
Then, despite being a man down again, a ball lost in the tackle by Bristol was kicked forward by a (can't remember which) back a few times, the Bristol winger fumbled it and had to carry it over his own 22 for a scrum, Moseley applied the pressure and eventually got a penalty (although they did make hard work of it). Thought Hughes had drop goaled at this point but apparently not, he put it over, Roberts failed to kick it 10m and the game was over.
One particularly funny Bristol fan just starting going crazy at his players at this point, others were bemoaning the fact they'd lost to Moseley, but a spirited defence followed by Hughes' tearing apart of the Bristol line made for a great victory. I do think Bristol are poorer this season though, it was nowhere near as fluid or mistake-free as last season.
If you are a true Moseley Fan you can only praise every one of the team that played tonight. Anyone that gives ANY criticism should hang their head in shame!!!! And the Hayter try??? one of the best ever scored by Moseley??? All I can say is thanks to everyone, especially the team, for a great evening. Come on again you Mooooose.
1.27 am. Too tired to write much but I was there and that was one of the best tries I have ever seen. I just hope someone can post the highlights of the video which is taken at every match so everyone can see it.
Paddy power had Bristol at 1/25 to win and 9/1 Mose. Doesn't seem fair, Never mind I will take 9/1 and enjoy a curry and a few beers on it. Thanks Paddy
You know, it's one thing to say "we can beat anyone in the league on our day". It's quite another to go down to Bristol and come back from 21-5 down. Fantastic result! Well done to players and management - I've rarely been so excited about Moseley's prospects to make an impact in this league. See you all saturday for the geordies! :-)
From all reports a well earned victory and with only 13 players at one point. With all honesty I didn't expect a win - certainly with Bristol receiving a thrashing the week before against Leeds. Well done Moseley. Would have loved to have seen that last try but work prevented it and I can't make next week either. Mind you I start a new job, Sunday week, which will enable me to watch Moseley every week - certainly all the home games - and what a relief, I am pleased to say. Come on Mooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooose.
thanks for the match report it sounded a good game after watching it on the twitter feed we were going barmy here in Sutton Coldfield, and well done to all the Lads, what a great win coming back from 21-5 down. this squad could start to do things this season judging by the results from other games last night, it seems that on the day anyone can beat anyone else. Newcastle excepted, that I think will just be a damage limitation exercise, or will it? you never know.
I've woken up now, had my porridge, and had time to reflect on last nights game. Some interesting posts from fans who were there so I just want to add a few thoughts.
We could have had this match won by half time if we had been a bit more clinical. A couple of missed penalties (or was it three) plus a lineout 5 metres from their line after thy had been penalised at an earlier lineout 10 metres out. A bit more calmness (perhaps Mike Powell's influence was missed here) would have got us a try or penalty try here.
So after missing the chance to wrap up the game in the first half we then went 21-5 down as, in fairness, Bristol had a really good spell of play. Game over some of us thought and the losing bonus point which many thought before the game was the best we could hope for seemed out of reach.
Then, miraculously, our pack started to get on top (more of them later) and our much vaunted back line started to produce the sort of play which Kevin Maggs has been promising us and which to be honest has not yet really been apparent except in brief flashes. Hughes was outstanding both individually and in getting the back line moving. Haytor kept up his great form, King is getting back to his best with some devastating line breaks and The Messrs Hunt (and Robinson when he came on) all looked dangerous. Ollie Thomas seems to have lost a little bit of confidence but it will come back.
I don't know what Dave Hilton has done to our pack but they are organised in a way I have not seen for years. Strong, committed and organised in defence, a solid scrum and our work at the breakdown and rolling mauls is simply outstanding. When we were in trouble at the scrum Pinaar did a terrific job in cleaning it up and Robinson, Lockley and Lawrence were everywhere around the pitch showing fantastic energy. It is taking some of the burden of Neil Mason who is returning to his bruising best after, in my opinion, a quiet start to the season. I need to keep reminding myself that these are young lads (20, 21, 22) some of whom have been plucked out of teams 2 divisions blow! I still think we are short in the second row though and would rather see Lawrence rotating with Pinear and Mason in the back row. Craig Voisey is twice as good as he was a couple of years ago. I could go on but I'm sure Dave Hilton must take all/most of he credit for this forward revolution. Long may it continue.
As I said last night can someone get he video highlights and post them somewhere. I want to watch that try again and again. I think it was a 99 metre effort from our line to theirs passing through umpteen pairs of hands. Wonderful.
There is only one thing that worries me. I have not read the morning papers yet but I suspect here may be a danger that the Bristol coach might get sacked after last nights result. I'm worried that if that happens they might come calling for the Maggs/Hilton partnership to renew their acquaintance with that part of the world!
I've not mentioned all the players from last night but I could have done easily. A simply outstanding comeback and victory.
Well said Gary, i totally agree with all your comments. It was an amazing night....Being a Mose fan is hard work as we all know but nights like that one make it all worth while! After dropping guys home i eventually crawled into bed at silly oclock, woke my wife up and bored her with every single pass and movement of Charlie`s try (she was really interested of course)! couldnt sleep atall so was up at the crack as i had to teach this morning with absolutely no voice left atall! but i can honestly say i couldnt care less...i would gladly do this every day for nights like that! Just one thing to add was possibly the worst refereeing performance i have ever witnessed on a rugby field. Maybe its not the time to harp on about this but when will the RFU do something about this man. He is a bafoon and we always seem to get him. We were all in the oplayers lounge till pretty late and when Maggsy came over, the first thing he said was "talk about playing against 16 men" Some of his decisions were baffling to say the least. However, i dont want to spoil the mood so i will be up to watch the oak this afternoon...lets get up there and cheer them on and keep the good vibe going. They are going to try to play a re run of the match last night on the TV so why not get up there. See who is ever up there later! Come on you Mose machine!
