Director of Rugby, Adam Balding is pleased to announce that four of last season’s midfield will be pulling on red and black shirts again this season.
Rob Knox made the move from Coventry at the start of last season, having made over 100 appearances for the Warwickshire club. A hard running centre with deceptive strength Rob made seventeen appearances last season, scoring five tries and showing against Cinderford that he can bring useful kicking options to the team. He will look to be locking down a starting spot in one of the most competitive positions in the club.
Isaac McNulty, brother of hooker Sam, will be starting his third season at the club. Having endured two seasons punctured by injury, that has seen him make 25 appearances to date, he will be looking to bring his hard running brand of rugby to the fore, and demonstrate why he can be key in breaking down defensive lines.
After a false start with the club during the covid non-season Elliott Creed finally made his debut last season and quickly underlined why the Management team were so keen to bring him to Billesley Common. With the genuine pace to operate on the wing as well as in the centre Elliott scored eight tries in his twenty three appearances.
As the second most senior player in the squad in terms of Birmingham Moseley appearances, Ollie Allsopp brings experience and consistency to the backline. Having made a total of eighty three appearances in his four seasons to date Ollie is well poised this season to join the select band of players with a century of appearances for the club in the professional era. Ollie also brings versatility to his role in the squad having made four appearances last season at fly half, as well as providing another goal kicking option.
Director of Rugby Adam Balding said:
“Rob made a big impact on the squad after his first season in National 1, bringing many fine qualities with him after stepping out of that full time environment with Coventry. The vast experience he has as a consistent championship performer has only benefited those players around him whilst giving a real confidence to the team especially with ball in hand, Rob is a real pleasure to work with and we still believe the best is yet to come from him in a Birmingham Moseley shirt.
Isaac has certainly showed over the past 2 seasons how destructive he can be both in attack and defence, offering something slightly different to the other centres which adds real options around the different midfield combinations. Isaac is an asset to any team and with a robust preseason completed it will be great to have him fully fit and available for selection ahead of the 2023-24 National 1 league season.
Elliott had a fantastic first season with the club bringing a real element of professionalism since joining us from Nottingham, playing abrasively both sides of the ball whilst showing his ability to be versatile as a player makes him a real integral part of the back line. As last season progressed, Elliott demonstrated strong leadership skills both on and off the field and to have Elliott with us for another season is extremely exciting.
Ollie is a consistently top performer ever since he returned to Birmingham Moseley, by being highly motivated and driven he brings a real competitive edge to the team both in training and playing. Ollie is a great player and totally coachable in every way which is a real strength for him to have, his hunger to perform and want to win is evident every time he pulls on the Birmingham Moseley shirt which is crucial for the long term success of this team.”
