Director of Rugby Adam Balding today confirmed that wingers Aquile Smith and Tuoyo Egodo will both be putting on the red and black shirts next season.
Joining them is Dan Brough a young talented back who joins us from National 1 Champions, Cambridge.
Aquile has made 61 appearances for the club over 3 seasons, scoring a very impressive 105 points along the way. Aquile is renowned for his pace, mesmerising defences with his scorching runs. Clearly joining the International 7’s set up, following his selection for the Jamaica team, a new dimension has been brought to his game.
On the other wing, Tuoyo, who made the transition from rugby league only recently has shown how well he has taken to a new format. It has been evident the progress he has made in adapting to a new code. He is a powerful runner, literally demolishing defences in his wake. Making 15 appearances last season and scoring 3 tries, we look forward to seeing his power game on the Common next season
A new signing this season, Dan Brough is a young back 3 player from Cambridge. Dan is a Midlands lad playing his junior rugby for Bridgnorth and Newport. Before joining Cambridge Dan spent 2 years in Portugal playing for premier league club, Benfica. Like Aquile he also has experience at 7’s International level where he played for Hungary.
Dan was in the starting line up when Cambridge visited us at the start of last season. Scoring tries is his forte and we look forward to seeing him make the scorer busy on Billesley Common.
Director of Rugby, Adam Balding said:
“ Aquile - has been an out and out finisher since his time at Birmingham Moseley showcasing his explosive pace and ability to score tries from anywhere, his arrival onto the international 7’s arena has certainly added another dimension to his attacking game.
Tuoyo – since joining us from playing rugby league Tuoyo’s continued development has been clear to see, his physicality in defence and power game with ball in hand has become a real asset to the team offering something different to the back 3 combinations.
Dan – Dan joins us from Cambridge where his previous performances makes him a prolific try scorer, as a coaching group we are really excited to see Dan in a Birmingham Moseley shirt and look forward seeing him contribute to the team in the coming season. “
Dan Brough said "After growing up in Wolverhampton and playing rugby from a young age I have always admired Moseley and how they’ve kept their position within the top levels. Now I have been offered this opportunity I am looking forward to putting on the shirt and doing what I do best!"
