Birmingham Moseley extend their squad with a further 8 new arrivals.
Adam Balding has brought in a mix of youth and experience as he puts the final touches to his squad for the 2019/20 season.
Harry Mahoney comes to us from Leicester Tigers. Harry, 21, began playing rugby at school in the backs before finding his position at hooker. He joined Leicester Tigers at the early age of 13 earning his place in the Academy at 17. While in the Academy he played in the under 18 Academy League final progressing to the Development squad the following season. He has experience in the National leagues having played 20 times for Leicester Lions and 22 for Loughborough Students.
Aquile Smith joins from Hartpury College where he combined his rugby career with his masters degree studies. Aquile (25) a winger played 26 times for Birmingham & Solihull before moving to Hull Ionians in 2015 where he appeared 43 times scoring 19 tries. His scoring rate established himself as a proven finisher and this attracted Hartpury to sign him up for the 2017/18 season in The Championship. Alongside his league rugby Aquile was a renowned try scorer in the BUCS Super League.
Tony Worthington, a bulky second row line out specialist comes in from Broadstreet. Tony is well known to another recent signing, Cliffie Hodgson who rates him highly from his time coaching him at Broadstreet.
Hooker Rhodri Tanner joins the front row brigade from Esher. Rhodri has experience of representative rugby by being selected for Wales Students. He spent a year at Nottingham Rugby followed by two years in National 2 North with Hinckley. He joined Esher for the 2018/19 season.
Adam Balding has also brought in four young players with genuine potential to make a name for themselves in the future. They will also become part of the Birmingham Moseley Academy Squad to further their development

Jamal Gask-Clarke, a winger with Wasps Academy for the last two seasons has been part of the Coventry College Rugby Education Programme where he finished as their top try scorer in the 2018/19 season. He is also a member of the 2019 England 7’s Development Squad.
Jamal has just finished his academic studies at Coventry College and with ambitions to progress in the game is an extremely exciting signing as a senior academy player. With outstanding pace & an impressive try strike rate, he is one to watch for the future, as he develops further through the player pathway ranks.
Second Row Harry Barnes has just finished his academic studies at Coventry College after a 3 year period in the education playing programme, captaining the side for the 2018/19 season. At 6’ 5” & weighing in at 112kg Harry has developed in to an exceptional leader and comes to Birmingham Moseley Rugby Senior Academy as a real prospect for the future. Harry also made his league debut for Birmingham & Solihull aged 18 in the clubs Midlands Premier winning campaign in 2017-18. He has representative honours with Midlands 20’s Squad and Warwickshire U20’s.
Centre/Back Row Ollie Clarke has just finished his academic studies at Coventry College while developing in the education programme. He was voted Players’ Player of the Season 2018/19. A robust & dynamic attacker & defender, Ollie spent his age grade development at Old Coventrians RFC as well as spending some time with Wasps Academy in 2017-18.
Transitioning from the back row to the centre position Ollie comes to Birmingham Moseley Senior Academy with aspirations to develop through the player pathway confirming he is player of real potential. He has represented Warwickshire at Under 18 level.
Scrum Half Josh McMurray comes in to the Birmingham Moseley Senior Academy after completing his development at Coventry College Rugby Education Programme as well as his age grade development at Old Coventrians RFC. A familiar name to the Midlands area with his dad Trent McMurray previously playing at hooker for Birmingham & Solihull & Coventry Rugby. A Cousin of Aaron Crofts, the clubs dynamic second row, Josh comes with real potential to progress through the player pathway ranks.
