Captain and Corporal re-sign for Birmingham Moseley for the 2018/2019 Season
Director of Rugby, Richard Protherough announces the re-signing of current captain and 1st XV Player of the Season award winner Buster Lawrence, on a two year contract. Buster is a firm favourite with the supporters having returned to the club this year following time at Wasps. He never fails to give 100% on the pitch and sets a great example with his commitment and dedication. His presence will ensure that the strong back row is maintained for next year and his versatility enables him to slot in to the second row. Buster turned out in 24 matches this season, a foot injury keeping out of the last few games of the season. Now standing on 98 appearances for Birmingham Moseley, Buster has ensured next season he will join the select band of players who have made one hundred league appearances for the club.
Another player, who has become a favourite at the club, Lewis Bean, has been made available by the British Army for another season in red and black. 6’ 8” Lewis, a Corporal in 2 Rifles, made a considerable impact in his first year at the club. With 20 appearances this season he has contributed enormously to the reputation of the pack in the line out and at scrum time as one of the best in the league. Gaining from experience at National 1 level has made him a regular in the British Army team. This weekend sees him featuring in the Army v Navy fixture at Twickenham.
