It is with great sadness that I have to report that Roger Stansfield died last weekend whilst on holiday with his wife Sandy in Mauritius.
For obvious reasons, funeral arrangements are not known yet, but will be posted as soon as they are available.
Moseley has lost one of its great characters and I am sure that all at the Club will want to offer sincere condolences to Sandy and all the family at this sad time.
More really sad news. Roger and Tony Thomas were two of the three coaches who coached the oldest age group between 1979 and 1985 (of which I was part). in the early, pioneering days of the M&J section. Great and happy times, remembered very fondly.
My sincere condolences to Sandy, Matthew and the twins. A larger than life character with a heart of gold and will be sadly missed.
It was Sandy's particular wish that Roger's funeral would be essentially a family affair, although it did include some invited friends.
My apologies for the delay with this message, although most will have read a similar one in Moseley Matters.
Regrading the above messages - and any other tributes which may be added - I will see that these are passed on to Sandy and the family. I know that they will be much appreciated.
