Well it's always good to say if you don't quite get over the finishing line with 4 points....losing ain't bad with 2. Well done Mose.
THE Butts Crew had a rest day as Mowden was frosted off...will they regret not being out in the pit by missing match play....tune in this time next week folks....
Well folks. Moseley were certainly quick off the mark today scoring in the corner within the first 2 minutes even before some Moseley supporters had got to their seats. Hey ho, were we in for a treat? I had to ask myself. Moseley were applying all the early pressure; they played some attractive expansive rugby and I felt it was just a matter of time before another score came along. But it didn't. They huffed and they puffed but they could not blow the house down. Quite the contrary. Rosslyn Park began to exert some forward pressure, Moseley were found wanting and before too long Rosslyn Park secured a well earned try. Not to worry Moseley would re-compose themselves and set off again.
“I think we let them in for one or two fairly soft tries through our own mistakes, be it missed tackles or spilled ball in open play, and we need to be better and more clinical in those areas.”
Those words from Aaron Crofts are spot on. Handling errors cost us dear, and not for the first time this season. I know it was a cold and damp afternoon, and the ball will have been slippery, but this is winter in England, we ought to expect that and be able to adjust accordingly. Each time we lost the ball, Park were onto it quickly and we were scrambling back to defend. And gaps did appear in the defensive line, when we should have been keeping our shape. Don't buy the dummy, guys, always put the tackle in.
