Birmingham Moseley announce first new signing for 2017/18

Birmingham Moseley Rugby are pleased to announce the first new signing for the 2017/18 season as scrum half Rob Lewis joins from Ebbw Vale on a two year contract.
Rob brings with him a wealth of experience at the highest levels of the game having represented Wales at 7s and Under 20s level as well as the Barbarians.
A product of the Newport Gwent Dragons Academy Rob holds the distinction of having played over 180 games for London Welsh, giving him the second highest number of appearances in the professional era.
During his time at London Welsh Rob was twice part of a promotion winning Championship team, also picking up a British & Irish Cup winners medal. Upon the demise of London Welsh’s professional arm earlier this season Lewis moved back to his first club Ebbw Vale in the Principality Premiership.
Birmingham Moseley’s Director of Rugby for the 2017/18 season Richard Protherough said “I'm delighted to add Rob to the squad for next year; he brings a wealth of experience and will add an extra dimension to our game. His record for London Welsh speaks for itself and he will add Premiership rugby experience to our backline.”
Rob Lewis commented on his move “Firstly I would like to thank Ebbw Vale for helping me after a very difficult period in my career and I will always be grateful to them.
After meeting and speaking with Richard Protherough about joining Birmingham Moseley I was very impressed with the focus and ambition of the club. The facilities, which they have improved and developed over recent years, are an example of this and would rival most championship sides.
I am looking forward to joining up with an already strong looking squad to add as much input as I possibly can in helping push towards the goal of promotion next year.”
