Two more Birmingham Moseley players commit to the club

Following the announcement earlier this week that Chris Brightwell & Jacques Le Roux had pledged their future to the club Birmingham Moseley are pleased to announce two more of this season’s squad have signed extended contracts.

Second Row Aaron Crofts joined the club at the beginning of the season from Old Coventrians, making the five league step up from Midlands 3 West South look like the most normal of progressions for a rugby player. Despite Aaron’s impressive progress having attracted interest from other clubs Birmingham Moseley are extremely pleased that he has decided to stay at Billesley Common for a further two seasons.

With 70 appearances to date Mike Penn is on course to become one of the exclusive century club in terms of representing the red and black in 100 games, having now signed a contract for his fifth and sixth seasons at Birmingham Moseley. The commitment of such a valuable player as Mike is seen by the club as key to developing the core of a Birmingham Moseley squad well placed to continue the challenge of reclaiming a place in the Championship.

Isn't that fabulous news, two more quality players committed to Moseley. As the above message says, come on Drew and Ed, commit to the squad for the next season - and beyond. And if one looks beyond next season where there could be every chance that Moseley could finish top and thereby gain promotion back to the Championship. But if one looks deeper into that potential success one could take great comfort from knowing that Moseley have played reasonably well this season with a largely NEW squad of players. Just think how next season could unfold with a settled squad of seasoned players, a squad that knows it's strengths and it's weaknesses, a squad that will be capable of being fit, conditioned and ready to play from the very first moment.

The future already looks promising for next season and the foreseeable future.

It makes no difference that Ed wotsisname is a Yorkshire lad or Drew wotsername is a Charlies Angel, I still have never heard of either of them. Mind you, I have heard of George Formby and Gracey Fields. Could they pair up with a couple of our players?

As far as I am concerned I'm going to draw a line under all this "name association" because it is venturing into Alice in Wonderland territory and I can't get down the rabbit hole to keep up with it.
