Ah! Couldn't attend but led to believe that Oak fielded a very young inexperienced team - hopefully some talent for a few years time. Nobody can take away that great unbeaten run of last season so lets just believe we can get through this period of change without too much damage.
The average age of the squad for the game was 23 and for the first 20 minutes the game was quite even, however a turn over in the Burton 22 and strong running by their big play makers saw Burton run in their first of 10 tries. The inexperience of the side added to the fact a big powerful Burton team were now on the front foot, saw burton capitalise an any mistakes by Oak and strong running centres and support play from Burton saw them dominate the rest of the first half to take a 39-3 lead in to the break. Oak made some changes at half time to try and strengthen the set plays which worked to a certain degree but Burton again picked Oak off as they kick the ball away only for Burton to run it back and score. never willing to give up Oak finally managed to score a try but Burton had the final say. A tough lesson for the young squad but these are good young players who will take this defeat on the chin and come back stronger for it. These young players played a vital role in the undefeated season last year and somehow the injuries never came, they have hit Oak at present but that's how it goes, the attitude and commitment from the squad is there and these lads will come back stronger.
