Another group of players join the Birmingham Moseley ranks



In the second row Maidstone born George Oram joins from Rotherham. Birmingham Moseley have been seeking a big ball carrying specialist to partner Greg Charlton. Oram fits the brief exactly.



Birmingham born Sam Shepherd, a 21 year old centre/fly half, joins from Bromsgrove having previously played for Hartpury College and Nottingham Trent University



Bolstering the front row highly rated prop Matthew Probert joins from National 3 outfit Scunthorpe RFC. Still young for a prop forward at 23 6ft 2in 21st 1lb Probert will be a match for any competing front row.

The fourth player to be announced is a winger whose name will be familiar to Birmingham Moseley Supporters, Ed Sheldon. Ed joined the club from Thornbury at the start of last season but was seriously injured in a warm up game which kept him out for the whole of the season.

Great to see Ed Sheldon back after such a frustrating season spent injured in pre-season. Looked exceptionally quick from what I recall!

As well as the warm up game against Ebbw Vale, where he played on the wing, Ed played twice for us the previous season in B&I Cup games on loan.

At present Tom Fidler is the only Prop confirmed as signed from last seasons squad. Details on final signings are still in progress but we do know Craig Voisey has signed for Stratford upon Avon as player/coach.

Do you think we will have 4 props in the squad.havng a smaller squad we may end up with just the three.

I'd expect at least 4. It's 15 on the pitch and 5 on the bench on matchdays, which I'd have thought meant 1 prop and 1 hooker + 3 others. We will need *some* injury cover and competition for places. But as ever the budget will be key to this.

Jack preece can cover hooker, which will allow another player to fill the hooker spot on the odd occasion or if a injury requires it.
