Fielding a number of promising academy players, Moseley Oak came away with another bonus point win to make it 15 wins out of 15. All the young players showed how they will be important to the future od oak and in time even Moseley first team, but whilst Oak scored tries at regular intervals, there were basic errors that at times gave Handsworth the opportunity to have a period of pressure and to their credit they took them, once with a clever chase and chase to score and one following a kick straight in to touch take the line back in Oak's 22, and when Oak penalised for holding and then marched back 10 metres for arguing with the referee, the visitors went over the line for their 2nd try, fortunately for Oak the game as a contest was over by half time at 35-0, and after conceding the first try Oak had some strong words under the posts to re focus and get their minds back on the job in hand. Particular mention goes to Morgan Dawes who was have a storming game until injury force him off just before half time
Oak 1st team play at Harborne today KO 2.15. A change to the Oak 2nd team fixture due to Harborne unable to field a team, Oak 2nds now at home v Bourneville 3rds.
To all of you that came to watch, we are very sorry you had a wasted trip, it was the same for everyone involved at Oak. The first we heard about an issue was at 12.05 when Harborne informed us they did not have a ref for the game. Northmids ref society were contacted by us and they quickly found a ref for the game, however, whilst we had all turned up and also had difficulties finding out where we should go, no-one from Harborne was around. Eventually, someone did turn up at 1.30pm stating they now couldn't get the team together. Very annoying and frustrating and nothing we can do. The game goes ahead this Saturday.
We believe the pitch is opposite the gym club entrance, through the green gate.
