Sam & Dave sign on along with two from the land of song

No Moseley are not moving into the music business with the signing of the popular soul duo, but last seasons scrum half pair Sam Brown and Dave Brazier will be back again for another shift behind the pack.

Sam, a fan favourite, will start his fifth season in the number nine jersey and has increasingly become a key component of the Moseley team having made 22 appearances in 2014/15. Local lad Brown has developed into a player capable of directing play on the field while posing a constant attacking threat around the breakdown.

Joining him in contention for the scrum half berth is 22 year old Brazier, a product of Moseley’s youth development system. A live wire player Dave will be looking to build on his 11 appearances last season and put pressure on Sam for a starting place in the team.

Joining these two in the back line the club confirms the signing of two players from Wales.

Centre Aaron Pinches moves to Moseley from Bedwas and brings a physical presence to the midfield standing at nearly six foot & sixteen stone. It is not just strength, but pace and skill which saw Aaron pick up the Principality Premiership Player of the Month award in February. A proven scorer and creator of tries Pinches will be looking to light up the red and black back line.

Outside of Aaron winger Kyle Evans arrives from Llanelli Scarlets. Former Wales 7s player Evans is renowned for his pace and try scoring ability.

Reading between the lines (ie searching *Kyle* on the Scarlets unoffy) - he's a punchy winger who never quite got the breaks in a Scarlets set-up that had (last season anyway), wingers coming out of their ears.

Could be just what we lacked a bit of last season (IMO obviously, and what do I know...).

From the clip above he appears to pick up the ball a lot from deep and counter attack.
Difficult to tell how quick he is , but hay ho if he can tackle to and most teams won't know much about him in the championship, bringing something new to Billesley.

Hopefully we can obtain a couple of second row forwards to join Greg Charlton who I for one thought had an excellent season last year. One 'old' hand and a young up and comer perhaps? I thought we were relatively weak in the front 5 last year and no matter how many good backs we might have they cannot do anything without the ball.

Maybe Kevin will start letting the centres pass to the wingers or the wingers will go looking for the ball. Nothing better than a "Matt Williams" racing down the wing.

Kyle Evans appears to play like a Welsh version of Billy Robinson; he can side step of either foot, set off the mark like a shot, weaves a magical run before stepping on the gas when clear; plus he appears to have a viscous hand off - was that a number 8 he dumped in the clips - can break a tackle, runs some good support lines, likes to run from deep and, to boot, can defend. I just hope that our new centre combination don't do a Matt Williams on him but give him lots and lots of ball and, more important when he has the ball give him the same support Kyle gives to his players.

As a former reasonably quick runner in the army I can appreciate the adrenalin rush of outpacing the field, as it were and beating the rest to the line. So, come on Kyle and come on Moooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Moseley bound centre Aaron Pinches was a double winner at Bedwas' 125th anniversary dinner.

The 26-year-old, who has been snapped up by the Championship side after catching the eye with a series of powerful midfield displays, was named as player of the year and players' player of the year.
