‘Moseley cement another brick in the wall’
With Moseley’s pre-season fixtures less than two weeks away, the club has pleasure in confirming two further forwards to their squad.
Neil Mason returns for his 10th consecutive year in Red and Black building on an outstanding career at Moseley having passed a landmark 200 1st XV appearances last season.
In 2012, on signing a two year extension the (now) 31 year old told The Birmingham Mail “At the end of this contract I'll have been at Moseley for nine years. I’d like to do at least ten and then we will see what happens as regards injuries and what my body is telling me.”
Supporters will be delighted he is signing on again – but not surprised he’s kept his word!
He is joined by second row / back row Nile Dacres from Stourbridge. Last season Niles was selected by The Rugby Paper at blindside flanker in their National Two North ‘dream team’.
Dacres went through Worcester’s academy system which included dual registered spells at both Stourbridge and Rotherham before becoming a permanent addition at Stourton Park last term.
Moseley’s pre-season fixtures start with a visit to Ebbw Vale (16th) followed by Northampton Saints (23rd). The final ‘friendly’ is at home against Ealing (Saturday 30th 3pm ko) before Jersey (Saturday 6th September 3pm ko) visit Billesley Common in The Greene King IPA Championship.
Moseley’s £3.5m new stand continues to be developed on time and to budget with a target opening date in December. The club warmly invite the wider rugby community to join the 500+ whose name will be featured as ‘another brick in the wall’. To get your name or your company’s name permanently on display for as little as £40 please see the ‘news and events’ section of www.moseleyrugby.co.uk
