Not sure that that's true. Glynn isn't a Mose player and was only available to us when Northampton released him to us, so Kevin could n't rely on him anyway.
I would guess that Saints are letting him go at the end of the season because they have another young scrum-half on the conveyor belt (as well as Alex Day) - who may be dual-registered with us next season if that arrangement continues.
Has anyone noticed that whilst all the speculation is going on about which players will stay with Moseley next season and which players will move on - or indeed which or how many new players will come to Moseley next season - there has been no mention of two, perhaps the two most important people on the "playing" side, namely, Kevin Maggs and Dave Hilton.
In the absence of any reports to the contrary, it would be remiss of me and many other Moseley supporters alike to "assume, en masse", that Kevin and Dave will be our team coaches for next season and although I must speak for myself, I feel sure I am not alone in my view that Moseley would be more than delighted in retaining the services of both Kevin and Dave.
They have done an absolutely splendid job, so splendid, in fact, it belies the truth that Moseley is a semi professional team operating on a very tight budget indeed. Kevin and Dave must have been frustrated more times than God made little green apples at some of the disappointing results but then, they must have been equally delighted at other unexpected wins. More to the point Moseley have achieved pretty well much of what they set out to achieve at the start of the season and that is commendable.
Thinking ahead, may I offer some food for thought and suggest that for the short term future Moseley could perhaps consider a mix of fully professional players - which would help us to retain "premiership players" such as Matt Williams and Buster Lawrence - along with semi professional players as an interim step towards a "fully professional" rugby club.
Whatever ones views one can but live in hope and with that in mind I am, as are no doubt are Kevin Maggs and Dave Hilton, already looking forward to next next season.
See you all on Saturday.
Come on Moooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooose
Well said Phil, both have done a fantastic job on a limited budget - long may they continue.
I also noticed Danny Herriot has signed for Jersey. We've not seen as much of him this season and have become more reliant on Parkins and Warren since Waller became a 1st team player for Saints.
I know speculation abounds regarding Matt Williams but, as yet, there is no official news one way or 'tuther I try to be an optimist and a glass half full guy so in the absence of any OFFICIAL news to the contrary, that, for me, could be good sign for Moseley.
Come on Matt, stay with us and come on Mooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooose
