Well spotted Neil! Be interesting to see how well this works this season. With Sam Brown recovering, I expect we'll be reliant on Ryan in the early part of the season and we'll need the cover in the front-row, even with 2 Craig Voiseys! Will be most interested to see Will Hooley play. Big step-up from age-group rugby although last time we had a DR at fly-half it seemed to work for us.
I also remember George Ford running the show against us a couple of seasons ago playing for Leeds.
Will Hooley played some games in National 1 for Cambridge last season so the step up to Championship rugby should, hopefully, be a natural progression. In a debate on the Saints' forum about the fly-half position, one supporter suggested that Hooley be given a chance in their First team.
I'll be interested to see how often Tom Stephenson is available to us - he cetainly looked exciting when he played for us in the last game of last season against Bedford.
And after Ethan Waller's ringing endorsement of his time with us, and particularly what he learned from Ben Evans, I'm not surprised to see props queuing up to play for us.
Thanks to everyone for keeping us up to date with developments. If the dual use guys can be integrated successfully (not always an easy task) then it looks like we may have our strongest squad for several years.
I note that Ethan Waller was not listed and I can only assume he is now part of Northampton's senior squad. If so congratulations to him. His performances for us were outstanding last year both in the tight and the loose.
Could do with a game today - shame we haven't got another hard friendly.
I was away for Newport game but went down to Northampton. Really encouraging - difficult to judge strength of opposition.
One question - who is going to start at 10? Caolan Ryan played against Northants - started very well, but he is only young with no experience at this level - will Caolan start against Rotherham? I heard Hooley? on DR from Northants might be available - has anyone seen him play, has he been training with Moseley?
Rolling Maul contributors seem to be predicting Ealing or Moseley for the drop - but I have high hopes with our new signings - pending 10 news. Come on U Mose..
Completely agree with you Oddsox. What is the weakness in OT's game which means he is continually overlooked for 10? I don't think he does as many daft things like when he was a youngster!

"Rolling Maul contributors seem to be predicting Ealing or Moseley for the drop."
That has to be one for Maggsy to pin up on the dressing room wall.
It's going to be a tough season for all the teams with plenty of surprises. If the opposition want to under-estimate us then that can only be to our advantage. I hope Phil's vocal chords are ready to go!
