Moseley Sign a New Centre

The club is pleased to confirm the signing of Will Owen.

He arrives with Moseley from Newport Gwent Dragons Academy having played last season in the Welsh Premiership for Ebbw Vale.

Will, 20, is originally from Coventry having played for Kenilworth before attending The University of Glamorgan. His representative honours include Welsh Students as well as Warwickshire U18s.

Looks very much like we will have a couple of pocket battleships in the centre next season, not quite the Lions sizes - six foot plus - but beefy, none the less. Good luck lads I'll be rootin' for you. And if the pack get it to you and you in turn can get the ball out to our speedy wings and full back methinks there could be mayhem in store for the opposition next season. I don't think that we should initially place too much expectation on Will Owen's shoulders. He is only just 20, and started only 3 games for Ebbw Vale last season according to their website.

I think that the King/Carter partnership looks more likely to start the season in the centre with Mike Penn at full-back, and Matt Williams and Simon Hunt on the wings looking at the current make-up of the squad.

Don't forget lads and lasses that we have Will Hafu in the squad who can give back up support as a centre and at nearly 6 foot and 17 odd stone could also be a hand full to contain. I certainly don't feel it necessary to dig out my old boots and give them a dubbing down at this stage - but I will try and find them - you never know when someone might need to take the sponge and bucket on at some stage in the game.
