Well, comms team. A positive preview and one which suggests rather than a need to win, a desire win. There is a difference, perhaps a little subtle for some to appreciate, but I feel a need to win puts more pressure on the lads than a desire to win, so lets go with desire and enjoy the game. I only hope the lads see it the same way as I do. Unfortunately Pam and I are unable to travel in body but we will be there in spirit. Pirates haven't looked too good this season, but 41-28 at Roth, we will need to be right on it from the first whistle if we want to get anything from there. All my family will be there supporting the lads, let's go for it, Roth are bound to be a bit leggy after only 2 and 1/2 days recovery. ideal opportunity, c'mon you Mose.
Leggy in the last 10-15 minutes perhaps, but likely a real spring in their step for the first 65-70. If our attitude is that they will be leggy, we'll end up limping.
Yes, a month ago I was thinking we were definitely safe - but despite enjoying some recent performances, points have not been forthcoming. I really don't want to go into Bedford game needing something to be sure. Overall I wanted Doncaster to stay up - but I can't trust us to pick up the points, whilst not doubting our commitment.
So I need Jersey to win now regardless to end that nagging ache. I've been to Rotherham twice before good time - can't make this weekend, enjoy boys & cheer the Mose boys home.

I'll be there, I'm on the coach and believe me I'll scream till I can't speak the following day. I think we can win this the result against pirates was a freak outcome. Remember we ran pirates very close to a loss and we only lost to Rotherham when we weren't playing that well at all. Given that Rotherham have had effectively 3 games in 7 days and we are coming into it rather fresh, I think the balance is stacked against them. Plus, other than pride, what are they actually playing for, can't go up, can't go down. After the effort at the weeekend, do they really want it? To hell with the defence, we should attack, attack, attack. Put them on the back foot and safety will be ours. Coupled with the security that Donny will not get a bonus point at Jersey and they certainly won't beat Bedford having travelled to Goldington road on a Wednesday night, we'll be ok. Come on Mose let's secure the points at Rotherham and make the rest academic.
I agree with Gerald the Fish. Handle and hold onto the ball like we did against Leeds last Friday and run everything at Rotherham. Let the forward get quick ball on the front foot and give Billy Robinson and Simon Hunt lots and lots of ball and run absolutely everything, even from behind our own line. Go for gold, glory and safety. Only then can we wish Doncaster every good wish to be the other team staying up with us and not Jersey. Nothing against Jersey as a team and a club but I don't fancy going to Jersey again. It's too expensive.
Don't be fooled by the Roth result Wednesday because it was very much a Pirates second string after the B&I Cup game Only three starting players retaining their places from the side that played Munster Sunday.
Looking at it a different way is that a Pirates side packed with youngsters managed to score four tries away from home at Roth.
That's a really attacking team Maggs has picked there with a bit more pace in the backline. Would love to see Stephenson come off the bench at some time during the game as I hear he is a real prospect.
However, we really need to sort the lineout to bi in with a fighting chance. We've lost some very promising attacking positions in recent games when it has malfunctioned horribly. Means we haven't been able to turn the screw when we needed to. Also not having a back ball option really limits the opportunities for the threes from first phase. Sort the lineout and we'll win this one!
RnB, If you are right then Roth had a really good practise session on Weds and still need to be taken really seriously from warm-up to the 90th minute (if neccesary).
Kevin has chosen a team to show us the better kind of rugby we saw against Leeds. Attacking with defence when needed. It's up to the "16th" man to get right behind the team and cheer them on. Lets all be like Gerald and shout ourselves hoarse. Don't just go to watch. BE VOCAL!!! Come on you Mooooose and Mose Fans.
That's a very adventurous team selection, glad to see that it looks like Maggsy is going for it. If we can get the line out working and get the ball out to the backs it could be an interesting match, Looking forward to it, c'mon you Mose. Ben Pienaar on the bench? I thought he was out for the season, if that's correct it's great news, it'll be good to see him back.
From what I can make out it looks as though we missed Ollie kicking our goals. Still we got a bonus point and we're safe so next week, with nowt to lose except the game, could be a signal for some exciting running rugby. And pigs might ......... Sorry for Doncaster though, but they will be back, have no fear.

Back from the game. It was a game we could have won .We missed a couple of penalties after we took a 10 nil lead and we had the elements first half. we lost Herriot and Mason with what looked like shoulder injuries. At one point we had two off on yellows while one of their players got a red after punches were thrown with king. After that are defence held out but eventually conceded a penalty try. We got three t tries and nearly got a fourth to win . I hope we can keep the bulk of our squad, however talk on the rolling maul site talks about a couple who could be on the move.
Shame Glynn forgot to pack his kicking boots, but yes we could and perhaps should have won, against 14 men for half hour, aside from our ridiculous yellows, Refereeing poor again. Some strange decisions, But a good team performance, enjoyed the day out. Pity about the injuries to Wagg and Danny Herriot, looked quite serious, they'll be glad toahve the summer ahead to recover.
