RFU Championship: Moseley v Leeds Carnegie, Saturday 23rd March
Kick off 3:00pm at Billesley Common Birmingham B13 0PT

The RFU Championship fixture between Moseley and Leeds Carnegie has been postponed due to South Birmingham experiencing a significant overnight snow fall.

Moseley will announce the date for the re-arranged fixture as soon as possible.

Moseley host London Scottish next Saturday (30th March – 3pm kick off) but both Moseley and Leeds have a free weekend on the 5/6/7th April.

Another Friday nighter? We seem to get a great atmosphere but should we stick to tradition and have it at 3pm Saturday? Definitely not Sunday.

This game will be played in 2 weeks ,so lets keep this one to sat at 3pm as it would give people the chance to come as they would have today.Only a thought as it is Easter hols why not try Sunday at 3pm ,I mean Leeds do hhmmmmmmmmmm

I am away in Wales on the 6th & 7th so as a hypocrite I will ask for Fri night, usually I am not a big fan of Fri night games but for selfish reasons I want it to be on Fri 5th as I dont want to miss a game!

I have to admit I am the opposite with this one too, I prefer Friday nighters normally but Saturday would be better for me this time around!! Good luck with this one management team!

The atmosphere is always better at a Friday night game, the very rare exceptions are the last game of a season or a local derby..............hold on a mo, where are cov and bees? Shucks! Friday nights it is then!

Surely in the current climate, with temparatures dropping dramatically post c.6.00pm, this game will have to be rescheduled for an afternoon rather than an evening kick-off...? And with this in mind, I would have thought that the traditional Saturday afternoon fixture was the only viable option.

Well that's me done as season ticket holder. The club obviously are trying to get rid of supporters whop live some distance from the ground. For me it's a 130 mile round trip. With now 3 games on a Friday a season ticket is worthless. Can I remind management again that they stated on moving to Billesley that all games would always be on a Saturday. And please, this is not just because I can't go on Fridays, it's a matter of principal and having a club that sticks to it's word. And for the record I couldn't go on that weekend at any time due to a long standing Commitment. This is about having a management that cares about all it's supporters.

That suits me fine and I'll still be getting my season ticket next year and the years afterwards.Got a wedding on the Saturday so well done Mose. We need to do whatever we can to make the matches accesable to more people and Fridays will suit some and not others. I think you'll find that the management does care but cannot please everybody all the time. Of course if there is a real problem then like many others you are welcome to come up to the club,not just have your say but help out and try and move forward with the club. We'll never turn away a set of helping hands.

Agree with Vincebrum. Always happens each year and always for the important end of season matches. Also against what the club said at the start of this season regarding the day that league matches would be played.. Same debate each time so obviously the difficulties of regular supporters who live a distance away but who turn up week in week out are ignored in the hope that others wil turn up just for the one match.

I have sympathy with the Club on this. No win situation. This week's Moseley Matters states:

The club appreciates that not all supporters can make Friday evenings – and apologies to those that can’t make this game. However a number of considerations were taken into account (in addition to the team’s Friday night record) including a long standing wedding booking on Saturday 6th April.

The Friday night makes sense commercially and also leaves room for manoeuvre over that same weekend should the poor weather continue. All fixtures have to be completed by Saturday 20th April and whilst originally this fixture was scheduled for a Saturday re-arrangements cannot always be ‘like for like’. Certainly this arrangement will lessen the prospect of a mid week fixture being forced upon the club.

Will is quite correct in restating what was said in MM.

The club had a long standing commitment on what was a free weekend and felt it would be unprofessional to cancel at this late date leaving to booker with no alternatives.

We are not a cash rich club and cannot afford to turn down the opportunity for revenue on potentially "dead" weekends in the calender. As the regulations provision for games on Friday, Saturday & Sunday the club can look to utilise the facilities on free Saturdays and still be able to host games rearranged due to the weather.
