Unfortunately the Stetson probably won't be able to make it this time, (1st away game missed this season) but I'll be there in spirit. Any fans that do make it please be vocal, cheer the lads on. Come on you Mooooose and Mose Fans.

As I have already said earlier, Leeds thought that turning up at Twickenham for the EDF final was a mere formality. Seemingly, Newcastle have a similar mind set for Friday night. Just like Twickenham, Moseley have nowt to lose. We will just have to wait and see what happens. Come on Moooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooose.

Full time Newcastle 36 Moseley 3. The Newcastle commentary acknowledged that Moseley played well but Newcastle fitness told in the end and as Moseley tired Newcastle scored a forwards try at the death. Moseley won a number of penalties in the last 10 - 15 mins and chose to run them all - they had nowt to lose - but line out overthrows and the Newcastle defence, which was too organised, kept them out.
Newcastle had a forward player sent off 10 mins from the end but took a winger off and put a fresh forward on which took the pack back to full strength. That suggested to me that Newcastle felt vulnerable to a full strength Moseley pack, so that was another Moseley positive.
My thoughts on the commentary were that Moseley contested well, particularly in the first half but made a few too many mistakes at critical times and, seemingly, rarely threatened the Newcastle line. I missed some of the commentary but I think Newcastle scored two tries early in the second half, just like they did in the first half.
Overall Moseley seemed to have gone up with intent, played well and have nothing to feel ashamed of. Apart from a couple of overthrows towards the end which ruined good attacking position the line out functioned well, which is a good positive sign.
I felt that a couple of Newcastle's 6 tries were a bit soft but they got 6, to Moseley's none, full stop. Moreover, they failed to convert 3 of their tries so the score against Moseley could have been over 40.
Ah well. It was a good workout for them.
