Birmingham Moseley on song with signing of flying wing

As Adam Balding brings together the last pieces of the 2021/22 squad jigsaw the latest signing brings an exciting wing with Premiership and Championship experience to Billesley Common.

Levi Davis joins the club from Ealing Trailfinders having moved to the London club for the 2020/21 season. England U19 international Levi started his professional rugby career at Bath making his 1st XV debut against London Irish in November 2017.

A speedster in the wide, with footwork to beat opposition defences, Levi will add his potent try scoring ability to the backline this season.

Director of Rugby Adam Balding commented “Levi brings significant experience of rugby at the highest levels to the club and will fit well into a backline full of creativity and attacking mind-set”

It’s not just on the pitch that Levi will enhance the squad, but also in any team singing on the away coach, as outside of rugby he is quite a renowned singer. In 2019 Levi took part in Celebrity X-Factor as part of the trio Try Star with England Full Back Ben Foden and Scottish International Thom Evans. Let’s hope the sound of his boots flying down the wing is also music to the ears of Birmingham Moseley supporters.

I am led to believe that the Club have notified WM Police of our speedster winger trio and that a speed limit has been imposed on Billesley Common. I wonder who'll pay the speeding fines!!

Before I saw this excellent news, I was looking at the squad & thinking how strong it looked (not that I am any expert) but hopefully Ryan can the lineout functioning and all will be well. I sense a good vibe around the club.

Are we setting any targets this year? Will Top 2 get us up?

Can't wait to see the match day squad (maybe later on). I haven't got a clue what combinations are going to be tried in the first few games, as I can see a lot of competition in key positions. 😀

After suffering much heartache in latter years I'm not looking at promotion this season Oddsox. Much rather that Moseley concentrate on building a team with proven depth of quality so that natural player rotation, through injuries and what have you, will enhance consistent performance, rather than endanger it. Once there is that consistency of performance and Moseley consolidate their position as a force to be reckoned with - HOME or AWAY - in National 1, then and only then, can Moseley and our loyal supporters hope of better things for the future.

In the meantime, Moseley have the significant hurdle of DMP to contend with tomorrow along with Blackheath next week, again at home. If and it is a big IF, if Moseley can lay down a good, solid marker for both of those games then and only then, will there will be hope and encouragement for the season ahead.

The least Pam and I can do tomorrow is be there, fingers crossed and support the lads on all the way,
