Recent guidelines have been issued from the RFU around considerations if National League teams would have sufficient time to attain a suitable level of scrum and maul standard against Elite (Premiership & Championship) clubs, given the short amount of time since restrictions have been lifted. This is in contrast to, for example, Championship clubs who have been playing full contact league matches for a number of months.
Clearly player welfare is of prime concern to all involved in the game and must be taken seriously.
Unfortunately this has led to our planned pre-season game against Coventry on 27th August being cancelled.
