I'm very sad to tell you that Dave Bettis died this morning.
Very many will know Dave from his many years of supporting the cause at Moseley.
From the early campaigning days after we left The Reddings - where he was instrumental is organising political support. To the happier days of success at Twickenham - when he wheeled himself into the clubhouse with the trophy on his lap.
He moved into a nursing home in Henley-in-Arden in mid March to cope with his MS, contracted COVID-19 more recently and died peacefully this morning.
I first knew Dave about 20 years ago when he brought his son Gwillam along to Mini Rugby and he joined the group I was in charge of.
Even though he was suffering badly from his illness he attended first team matches whenever he could and I remember him on the coach to Twickenham to support the 1st team when they beat Leeds in the cup final and returning with the trophy in his hands. He was a contributor to Moseley Matters as well as other technical support matters.
My thoughts go to Gwillam who I hope to see when the season gets going.
