Today, BMRC is launching its On Line Auction, as previewed in the Chairman’s recent letter. There are ten great lots, full details of which are in the attached Catalogue. More can still be added so, if you have any items of memorabilia from any sport, but especially rugby, and are willing to donate them for the Club’s benefit, please let me know as soon as possible. My email address is at the bottom of the Catalogue.
Whether or not you are a potential bidder of one of the lots, please do whatever you can to distribute the Catalogue and the separate attached Rules & Processes document (the two must go together) as widely as you can to friends, relations, work colleagues, in fact, any and all of your contacts. We need to kick-start the Auction as soon as possible and build up momentum to ensure that the Club gains the maximum financial benefit when bids close on Thursday 30th April.
Finally, don’t be put off by the Rules & Processes document! It’s not as daunting as it may appear! The first part is to ensure that the Club is fully and rightly protected from any wrongdoing, whether intended or not. The second should simply ensure the smooth running of the Auction for the benefit of all, especially the Club. It is also designed to ensure that noone who wants to bid but does not have access to email or a printer and scanner will be disadvantaged.
If you have any queries about any aspect of the Auction, please let me know as soon as possible. Otherwise, let’s all of us, whether bidding or not, get involved throughout April and help to deliver a much needed boost to the finances of our great Club. Thank you in anticipation of your support.
