As a technophobe I should leave such postings well alone as it is easy for many of us to be mis-led.

I did see the Billy Lee post which was confusing too.

If you remember back at The Reddings most of us only got to know the latest club news on a Saturday pre-match in the bar unless you were really connected.

Never mind. Now where's my Argus for the merit tables?

This is a continuation of the Tweet above it about Billy Lee, who was awarded a contract by Maggsy back in 2015, a quick Google tells me.

It was a training contract for Academy players to train with the 1st XV. He was never contracted to the 1st XV Squad

having hurried over to RollingMaul, I would just caution that some posters have a reputation for being more reliable than others. Absolutely not saying it's wrong, but let's just say I'm not saying I'm rushing to believe it either.

I know it is club policy not to announce when players leave but if they have actually signed for another team can we just be informed? Agree with Southernmose we can’t always take for granted what is posted on Rolling Maul.

The poster on Rolling Maul is a Rotherham/Sheffield Tigers supporter, so odd someone from a club not involved would know.?

Assuming it's true, reasons I can think of include him being a Bristolian, so perhaps wanting to play closer to home, perhaps there are family reasons in play now. Also it's a step or two down the leagues, and with Buster no longer being in the early stages of his career he may fancy a less intense playing environment. I've no idea about financial rewards, are Clifton a rich club?

Not sure of Clifton's finances. It's a wealthy area of the city (don't ask why historically that's the case!) but their attendances are usually quite small. If true, I suspect the lad is going home with better prospects of a future career path. Good luck Buster.

Would be disappointing to see him move on, however as mentioned plenty of connections in the South West, if it’s not for financial clout, I would have thought he would have gone back to Dings, as he seems a pretty loyal guy.

We are of course not aware of another clubs position with regard to signings so would not be able to speak on their behalf. Nor can we comment on any discussions the club has with players until contracts are completed .

There is an unwritten etiquette between clubs that the club making the signing leads the announcement of players. We respect this approach and will not make announcements on other clubs signings until they themselves are ready to.

We are however able to announce Birmingham Moseley’s signings and expect to do so very soon.

Ah! chrisyork we are well accustomed to the Comms Team teasing us about squad signings. Happens most pre-seasons but let's be honest the disclosure agreement amongst the Clubs protects all parties from .....................fake news" (there, never thought I would use that phrase!!) and injunctions!

Billesley Common looked sparkling but fed up when I passed by the other day waiting for live action to restart!

Do we know if the 2021/22 season starts in September will we have the squad who we signed last year or do they have re-sign.

I'm led to believe the fixtures are being worked on at the moment Richard and we hope to have some squad news to share with supporters soon.

I imagine that it's inevitable that some of the squad that we signed will have had changes in family or work circumstances which will mean that they have to move elsewhere. But this will apply to all clubs, and we may benefit from it as well as suffer.
