Now lets unloosen them Titans and age those Old Elths'!!
Great performance today from 1-15 fully deserved the win. Let's hope we can kick on from here. Debutants look good additions hopefully we can keep them for the remainder of the season not sure what the arrangement is there?
Didn't get to the match till half time yesterday but was impressed with the half I saw. Moseley played with a purpose not seen for some while now and that alone set the tone for a good game, a good result, the first Moseley double this season - and no yellow cards as well. Can't be bad.
Cinderford didn't play badly at all - their driving maul was better than Moseley's - but Moseley defended well with first up tackles being a particular welcome improvement from the recent norm.
And the fact that the strong wind against Moseley proved to be advantageous - after all Cinderford, unusually, all too often kicked long clearances dead - turned out to be an added bonus.
One swallow doth not a summer make but Moseley should certainly take some comfort from this performance. We shall no doubt see.
Great team spirit has been a feature of this season and yesterday we saw it in abundance. What particularly impressed on Saturday was our new loan signing Dan Lewis talking to the backs just before the kick off offering encouragement and he was the first to the forwards when they won the first ruck. As mentioned above it was a squad effort with everyone playing their part. I would, however, single out Will Biggs. He has had some tough games since the injury to Pete but I thought it was his best game so far in a Mose shirt. A word about the ref - I thought he was one of the best we have had this season. Yes he did miss a few things and his signalling needs to improve but at least he let the game flow in marked contrast to the inept official we had for the Rams game.
This was the first game I've seen for some time. I watched both teams warm up - Cinderford seemed highly energised and organised, whilst Mose seemed a bit flat. However, from the off it was Mose who took the game by the scruff of the neck - full of purpose, energy and commitment - with aggressive tackling, great communication, speed and inventiveness in the backs, commitment and vigour at the breakdown - which they maintained for 80 minutes. In other words, a quite excellent performance all round. It left one only to wonder what's been going on in the preceding 7 games. I thought Buster and Morgan Dawes were outstanding - the latter particularly seemed to be everywhere, making a real nuisance of himself at their breakdown and Buster's energy and commitment were everywhere to be seen - nearly always punching holes in their defensive line. Based on this we stand every chance of doing a job on Rotherham next weekend and increasing the gap between ourselves and the bottom three sides. Come on Mose - the rest of the season is ours for the taking!!
Fly-half Cliff Hodgson was on fire! Cliff kicked 3 out of 4 conversion and 3 out of 3 penalties! Awesome considering the wind and the rain! Very good all round performance from start to finish! Well done lads.
Lets hope that this is the end of the drought. It was a Great performance by Moseley. No yellows which is always good. Good discipline. Some really solid defence work. Great kicking in horrible conditions.
