Adam Balding, Birmingham Moseley’s Director of Rugby, has been working hard since his arrival on re-signing and recruiting his squad for the forthcoming season.
The club are delighted and excited to announce that Adam has signed Worcester Warriors legend Jonny Arr at scrum half. Jonny is well known to Adam having played alongside him at Worcester between 2010 and 2012. Jonny ended his career at Worcester at the end of last season having made over 200 appearances for the club.
Adam wants to ensure Birmingham Moseley has strength at the core of its backline next season and the person equipped to lead the charge is Ravai Fatiaki. Fijian international Ravai, a Corporal in the Royal Signals, has re-signed from last season having made 16 appearances in red and black alongside those for the British Army, including the prestigious Babcock Trophy.
A mid-season loan to the club from Coventry in 2018-19, Louis Roach, made a real impact on the wing during his period at the club, ending the season as the second highest try scorer despite having only featured in half the fixtures. A former Moseley player before his move to Coventry we are delighted that he has decided to once more make Birmingham Moseley his home.
Continuing the Worcester Warriors connection wing/centre Mason Tonks has put pen to paper for next season. Mason was dual registered with the club last season but due to commitments at Sixways made just the one appearance against Darlington Mowden Park last October. Mason, an England 7’s International was a Gloucester Academy player before signing for Worcester. Renowned for his pace Mason will bring a cutting edge to the Birmingham Moseley backline.
Adam Balding, Director of Rugby said:
“Having Jonny join us is a tremendous coup for the club. This brings the exciting prospect of Jonny and Ravai teaming up again following their time together at Worcester Warriors. With the Premiership experience and game management skills he possesses Jonny will be a real asset to the team both on and off the field. Mason is a talented young England and Premiership 7’s player who will add pace to our back line. Louis has natural try scoring ability and impressed last season while on loan from Coventry. The skills these players possess are vital and will bring an exciting brand of attacking rugby to the club”
