Adam Balding, Birmingham Moseley’s Director of Rugby, has announced the arrival of two further members of his coaching team for the 2019/2020 season.
Stewart Pearl joins as forwards coach from Birmingham & Solihull. Pearl took up the reigns of the pack at Portway following a successful period at Broad Street where he was part of the management team who steered them to National 2 promotion in 2017. Before retiring Stewart played hooker for Worcester Warriors, Plymouth Albion, Coventry and Cambridge.
Stewart Pearl said:
“I have played against Birmingham Moseley RFC many times in my playing career and have always held the club in high regard, so I am really pleased to have the chance to help the club continue their successes as a member of the coaching team. I can’t wait for the season to start and am looking forward to getting stuck in to play a part in ensuring the club makes a big impact in National One this year”.
Joining Stewart this season is Rob Norman who will take the strength and conditioning coach role. Rob is currently strength and conditioning lead for Archery GB’s Olympic and Paralympic team. He holds the same role at The English Institute for Sport. Rob comes to us from Coventry Rugby where he has spent 10 years as Head of Performance.
Rob Norman said:
“Having worked in S&C for over a decade across multiple sports I am really excited to return to the weekly challenges of National 1 rugby. Currently working in support of team GB's Olympic aspirations in Tokyo I am really looking forward to applying my 10+ years of experience in S&C here at Birmingham Moseley Rugby club helping drive high standards both on and off the pitch.”
Adam Balding, Director of Rugby said:
“I am delighted to welcome Stewart and Rob to the club. They both bring proven experience at this level. Rob’s CV speaks for itself and I look forward to him adding real value to the club both on and off the field. Stewart, a former Championship hooker, is an extremely dynamic coach, well regarded and experienced at this level and is an ideal coach for the style of play we are looking for.”
