Congratulations to the Birmingham Moseley players selected for the North Midlands U20 Squad
North Midlands Under-20s have called up Whitchurch fly-half Dan Pemberton and Luctonians back row forward Piers Morell for their National Under-20 Championship quarter-final against Durham at Luctonians’ Mortimer Park ground on April 2 (3pm).
Pemberton, the son of former North Midlands, Shropshire and Whitchurch lock Tom, returns to the squad having missed the emphatic win victory over East Midlands last month which secured a home quarter-final.
Morell, like Pemberton a former North Midlands Under-18s player, will be playing in familiar surroundings at his home club ground.
Morell’s inclusion compensates for the absence of three forwards -Christian Edbrooke, Luke Ashmore and Greg Naptin – through injury or unavailability.
North Midlands Under-20s squad:
Backs: Ben Tibbetts (Stourbridge), Dan Pemberton (Whitchurch), Matt Dight (Birmingham & Solihull), Will Davies (Church Stretton), Will Debenham (Harper Adams University), Rob Leighton (Whitchurch), Connor Adams (Chinnor), Owen Williams (Stourbridge).
Forwards: Jake Thompson (Dudley Kingswinford), James Burgoyne (Birmingham Moseley), Ellis Moysey (Whitchurch), Conor Thorneycroft (Sutton Coldfield), Jordan Grass (Newport), Charlie Hill (Telford Hornets), Sam Knott (Bromsgrove), Billy Castle (Birmingham & Solihull), Sam Sheppard (Birmingham Moseley), Jack Ward (Veseyans), Angus Low (Birmingham Moseley), Piers Morell (Luctonians).
