some kind soul has uploaded the entire Rugby Special highlights programme to youtube....
If you can bear to watch it again. Lovely 2 hander interview with the captains at the end. A shell shocked and knackered Derek Nutt gives his views to the nation!
Blast from the past seeing that, I was there many moons ago.
How the game has changed, watching this, back then -
Scrum halves were regularly penalised for crooked feeds
Hookers used one hand to float the ball in to lineouts
Jumpers jumped (minimal lifting) and generally tapped the ball down and lineouts were much more of a contest
Half time was a quick chat on the pitch
Twickenham was less than half full
Crowd control and behaviour was non-existent/poor
Players looked like regular people in terms of physique/build - none of the massive sizes you see from 1-15 today
Goal kickers were much much quicker - step back, quick look and run up!
Both JP Cup finals were fine margins for Moseley, denied at the death twice by much more fancied teams. How close was Ford to missing that simple kick that just earned Glos the tie despite their mighty pack of forwards.
anonymous...…….."regular people" indeed! I hope Mr Warren doesn't hear you !!
Mose seemed really focused and I wonder what Messrs Warren and Nutt felt about the referee.. they occasionally looked puzzled with not releasing decisions?
Great to see though.
Looking forward to a victory in the big match on Saturday and England should make it, too!!

And the scrums just formed up and came together without all the instructions from the referee. "Bind ... set ... engage" indeed!
Dave Warren and Derek Nutt with full heads of hair :-)
