Birmingham Moseley bolster their squad further for the 2019/2020 season
Director of Rugby, Adam Balding is delighted to have captured the services of highly regarded centre, Kieran Joyce. Kieran, 23, 6 ft and 15.5 stone was born in Ireland but educated at Solihull School. Rugby has been his passion from a very young age and he enjoyed age grade rugby at International level for Ireland. He has played for Ulster Rugby but more recently was a member of the Connacht Academy. He has experience at European Challenge Cup level representing Connacht last December making his debut in their game at home to Perpignan being retained for the return match the following week. Both matches resulted in wins for Connacht. He has also toured the USA earlier this year playing in the Cara Cup.
Joining Kieran is Bridgnorth born back rower Zac Xiourouppa. Zac has played at Worcester Warriors since the age of 14. He has played for England at Under 16 level and captained the Under 17 side. He became a member of the Warriors Senior Academy in the 2016/17 season going on to make his senior debut in the same season in the European Challenge Cup, playing in Russia against Enisei-STM, and a week later featured against Brive at Sixways. Zac spent 3 months in New Zealand recovering from injury joining Cornish Pirates on a dual registration contract for the 2018/19 season.
Making a name for himself at British Universities level is hooker Will Biggs. Will a Hartpury College graduate captained the record breaking side, when they won the British Universities and Colleges Super Rugby Championship final at Twickenham in April for the third consecutive year. Hartpury College is renowned for bringing the best out of their players and we welcome the opportunity to help him grow his game and join the ranks of one of the most formidable front rows in the league.
Adam Balding, Director of Rugby said: “I am delighted that I have been able to bring to the club the experience that Kieran and Zac possess. Both have an excellent pedigree playing at the highest level of age grade rugby.
Will is a young hooker with enormous potential. He has great enthusiasm for the game and we expect him to quickly become a contender for a starting role.”
