Birmingham Moseley 35-35 Carmarthen Quins

We are pleased to be hosting Carmarthen Quins for a pre-season fixture on Saturday 18th August at 3pm.

The teams last met in 2016/17 when Quins enjoyed a close 21-23 win.

It was hoped to host the return fixture last season but the early start of the Principality Premiership scuppered this, so we are delighted to finally get the opportunity to even the score.

Last season Quins finished 5th in the Premiership (stage 2), so will prove suitably tough opposition as Birmingham Moseley prepare for their National One campaign.

According to "Rugby Paper" we are shown as having a fixture with Worcester Warriors on 23 August at 7.30 away.Can Comm.team confirm please.

There is no 1st XV fixture planned for the 25th as far as I am aware but Moseley Oak are playing at home v Melton Mowbray and I'm sure they'd love some support

As I’ve said online elsewhere encouraging is probably the right word for it. Very evenly balanced match overall, although we were markedly stronger (and probably closer to a first xv) in the second half than the first, especially in the scrum.

Loads of silly mistakes - knock ons, dropped passes, etc. Interestingly i’d Say that passing accuracy was *not* a problem yesterday - none of those looping passes to nowhere we’ve seen over the past couple of seasons, just dropped when they could have set up tries.

Effort/commitment pretty well from everyone. Amazingly bad tempered match for a friendly I thought....but Mose stood up well to it all (as in fairness did Quins) and it was worth a fiver for an afternoon’s entertainment.

I doubt we will see a bigger gaffe this season than the Quins centre dropping the ball when everyone presumed that he was dotting it down for the winning score on the final play of the game.

I contacted Worcester about parking. It is apparently free on a first come first basis but it is selling fast and was told one would need to arrive early to guarantee a space for those thinkinkg of going.
